Product Description

Thermophore Standard Size 14" x 27" - Because of its large size, the Standard can be applied to larger areas of the body, including the entire spine, both shoulders, and the legs. Versatility makes this the most popular size. Fleece blend cover included.

The Battle Creek Thermophore ® Moist Heating Pad / Pack electric fomentation unit was developed to conveniently provide moist fomentation treatments whenever moist heat is indicated. The Thermophore Hot Pack has a special tightly-woven fleece blend cover which retains moisture from the air. When the unit is turned on, the surge of heat into the cover moves the moisture from the heated fleece blend to the cooler body tissue. The most effective way to use moist heat is by applying a short treatment at a high temperature, then allowing the body to return to normal temperature, and then repeating the process. These treatments are very relaxing and the user may fall asleep. If this occurs, the momentary switch snaps off as the user's finger relaxes and the unit immediately cools down, preventing burns. The momentary switch is the safest way to deliver high temperature. High temperature and moisture is what makes the Thermophore Hot Pack effective. Penetrating moist heat dilates the blood vessels, increasing circulation and creating blood flow. This takes away waste and toxins which may have settled in the injured area and brings new healing blood cells to the tissue. Moist heat therapy is a means to temporarily relieve pain derived from arthritis, bursitis, back aches and muscle spasms. This product also aids in the treatment of colds with congestion and sinus conditions. Many women find monthly cramps can be lessened with the use of a Thermophore unit placed across their abdomen.

Thermophore ® produces intense, moist heat for faster relief.

The application of moist heat is a commonly prescribed therapy in medical practice today, and the Thermophore Hot Pack is the method physicians' recommend most often. Moist heat increases circulation and speeds recovery by bringing in fresh blood cells and taking away the wastes, which may hinder healing. These beneficial results continue for several hours after treatment.

The application of moist heat, known as fomentation, is especially useful in treating back pain caused by muscle spasms from strain and tension. The Thermophore Hot Pack, and rest, will gradually relax the muscle in spasm, restoring its normal length and relieving pain. The moisture produced by the Thermophore Hot Pack transfers the high heat deeper into tissues than an ordinary dry heat pad.

Arthritic and rheumatic pain is often temporarily relieved with the use of moist heat. The increased blood flow can relieve the inflamed joints and help maintain flexibility.

No water needed. Thermophore produces its own moisture.

The Thermophore Hot Pack produces moist heat automatically by drawing moisture from humidity in the air and retaining it in the hot pack's outer fleece blend cover. The rapid heat rise occurring when the hot pack is turned on forces the moisture out of the fleece blend onto the patient's skin, speeding temporary relief to the treated area.

Intense, moist heat makes Thermophore better.

The Thermophore Hot Pack is more effective than other electric heating pads on the market because it delivers very intense, moist heat. The patient to maintain the highest temperature possible controls the temperature of the hot pack.

Momentary switch for better heat control.

A hand-held momentary switch, turns the hot pack on and off, and allows the user to maintain the highest temperature possible.

When to use the Thermophore Hot Pack.

Thermophore Hot Packs should be used at the first sign of muscle spasm or joint pain. A Thermophore Hot Pack treatment is especially useful to help temporarily relieve pain caused by muscle spasm or inflammation after a day of recreation, gardening, jogging or household chores.
